From DIY to Day Tripper

Hannah Quinn, founder of Video HQ, is a professional videographer with a flair for capturing authentic, story-led content through interview-style filming. With a BBC journalism background and a growing reputation in the education sector, her case study videos are top-tier. But her self-built website? Not quite in the same league.

Hannah booked a Day Tripper with TukTuk Creative, expecting a bit of a tidy-up. What followed was more like a creative co-pilot session – and a complete refresh.

 

Where the Magic Happened

We spent the day side-by-side in the TukTuk office – me on my iMac, Hannah with her MacBook, bouncing off each other all day. Time flew.

From the outside, it may have looked like we were just tweaking fonts – but behind the scenes, it was a full-on overhaul. Hannah had previously only used cyan blue for her brand colours, so we expanded the palette to include a warm orange and a rich dark blue to bring more depth and professionalism to the visuals.

We also explored SEO search terms, reviewed the user journey, and rethought the layout. What started as a “bit of a spruce” became a full day of strategic design, storytelling, and upskilling.

As we worked, I trained Hannah on how to:
